VGS Publishers was established in 1954 by the visionary Late Shri Siram Surya Narayana Murthy in Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh. What began as Visalandhra General Stores—a modest bookshop serving the student community—has transformed into one of the region's most respected publishing and printing houses.
Our founder started by printing S.S.L.C. guides in Telugu and English, recognizing the need for quality educational materials. By 1956, he expanded into general and devotional books under the name V.G.S., a strategy that resonated deeply with readers across the state. His six sons joined the business, nurturing it with dedication and innovation.
Today, under the leadership of Shri Rama Rao as Chairman & Managing Director and Shri Narayana Rao as Director, VGS Publishers operates from multiple locations including Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and our original Amalapuram office. In 1972, we expanded to Vijayawada, and later to Hyderabad, ensuring our reach extended across united Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
Our sprawling 1,20,000 sq ft facility at Ambapuram, Vijayawada, houses ultra-modern printing machinery and employs highly skilled professionals who share our passion for excellence. We've established VGS Book Links as a subsidiary to meet the growing demand for books across various fields.
